Freedom To Experiment
Hi, this is SummerMaxi (Naveen), a geologist. A couple of months ago I released a mobile app called Rockhound to test an idea. People organically started downloading it, and it's now making about $200 a month in revenue, growing slowly since release without a single update. I believe it has the full potential to become much, much bigger than what it is.
That's not fluff. The top app in this space makes $5M a year just from identifying rocks. A subreddit called r/whatsthisrock gets 600k visitors a week. And in the age of AI it is still very hard for a model to identify a rock from a picture, unlike coins, fish or mushrooms. Two different rocks can look the same in a photo and be totally different rocks. Nobody has cracked this yet.
So I'm releasing my Meme card, Freedom To Experiment, to raise 8 ETH so I can leave my current work and focus fully on building this. One of my lifetime goals is to build a mineral museum, and working on this fully dedicated will be part of that incredible journey, not just the venture. I'm inviting you to become part of the world of rocks I am building. Finally I can say this is where it starts. Be part of something that is going to be much bigger than me.
First the card has to win its drop slot, and that takes TDH votes.

Without me sharing a word about it, the app has grown organically over the last 6 months to about $200 a month in revenue. I have gathered feedback from real users and done the research to make it much better, and I have the marketing push planned to make that happen.
There are only a few apps in this space, and the top one, making $5M a year, does nothing innovative. They grew that big because they were first. After researching them, all they do is identifier apps: mushroom identifier, coin identifier, fish identifier, and so on.
Capturing even 15% of that market puts us at $750k a year in revenue. The app already runs at a 75% margin. As we scale we might need to hire more people. We have a great margin for the app.

I have been doing rock porn since my college days. I started the Geology Love Facebook page in July 2016, and it has been 10 years. I have grown it to 600k followers organically, and I know what videos go viral in the rock world. Haha.
As the algorithm has changed and new social media platforms have emerged, the page needs a revamp, and growing a page today takes a different strategy. So the social media side of growing the app is covered.
The page has also put me in contact with mineral dealers all around the world. That is what makes the exclusive rights for the Karur Amethyst possible.
This is the larger goal for me. Running a business that generates revenue and helps others is great for sustaining things. But I have had a lifelong dream of building a mineral museum.
In my college days, doing my bachelor's, we only ever saw black and white photos of minerals. That is what led me to start the Geology Love page, which has grown into one of the top pages in the rock world. Ever since then I have been dreaming about building my own mineral museum. I started collecting minerals myself, then donating them to local museums, then visiting other museums and the people who own them. There isn't a single museum in southern India that showcases the amazing minerals from around the world. I envision mine holding the world's best mineral specimens.
In 2020 a friend from the US asked me, did you know there is amethyst from Karur? I was shocked. I had no idea until he said it. The laws here are in a grey area, so it is not talked about publicly. Over the last 6 years I have finally made it possible and partnered with the miners from Karur, because no one here appreciates these amazing specimens.
Last year I did one showcase of my collection for friends and family. This year it was an open showcase, and around 200 people came to the show. It was amazing to see kids so amazed by the fossils and minerals. That gave me great joy, and the sketches drawn by the children have given me the motivation to pursue this goal further. The Meme card will be the start of everything that is going to happen, and it will become much bigger than me.
Hosted an open show in Chennai to showcase my fossil and mineral collection. About 200 people walked in, and around 50 kids sketched dinosaurs and crystals, more than enough to keep me working toward my lifetime goal of building a mineral museum.

All the sketches done by the kids who came to the show.
I was at Network School in the July cohort and had a wonderful time, until they had to shut down in the middle of it, which ended with me heading to Singapore in the middle of the night, like some Mission Impossible stunt. That is when I became even more bullish on 6529 as the decentralized decision layer. I have been in the memes ecosystem for the past two years but never released a card. I think 6529 has things sorted out when it comes to becoming a Network State. I truly believe 6529 will become a trillion dollar economy in the future. So I am building my own world of rocks through my meme card, and bringing builder energy to 6529.
My meme card, Freedom To Experiment, brings all the known minerals onchain. Every mineral ever formally recognized on Earth, rendered as one living structure. At its center is a single sphere that every one of 6,239 known mineral species orbits directly, each defined by the one chemical element that makes it unique.
That's me
That's meI will be honest: it is a target. To give you the background, I am betting 100% on this. I have to make it work to reach my lifetime goal of building a mineral museum. Even if we don't reach the full 8 ETH, I will still pursue this, because I can't see why it would fail. At the same time, I don't want to promise things. I am going to dive in and commit 100% to this, period.
Once the mint is done, every month the app revenue goes into a Safe multisig wallet managed by community members and myself, so you know it is safe.
The amethysts are found in small pockets, at random, while mining for building materials in Karur. I have met the dealer who works with all the miners and has built such a strong working relationship with them that about 95% of all the amethysts come through him. I have been in contact with him for two years and have already bought a lot of amethysts from him over the past few months.
Last month we sat down and set up a partnership. I invest $5,000 into the existing stock to become a 50:50 partner. He takes care of procuring and cleaning the minerals, and I focus on selling them.
Honestly, raising money for the app through a normal VC or seed fund is not going to work. I did speak with two of them, and this isn't the type of business that typical web2 funding is built for.
After being at Network School, I also understood how advanced 6529 is. Through 6529 I don't have to give away equity. It works like a grant, yet it still gives me a way to give back to the minters after the raise. Whoever holds my meme card can get a ton of benefits as this grows.
I am fully dedicated, and the idea is already validated by generating revenue. This also lets me put in my papers, leave my 9 to 5, and fully dedicate myself to the thing I love. Rocks. :)
I will post a weekly report on how things are going, all the way until the second phase, when the ETH is returned. After that I don't want to keep posting the revenue numbers publicly. Once the deliverables are done, the numbers go private, but I will be doing a ton of things for my holders. I will never forget who made this possible for me.
I am also planning to set aside a certain percentage of the revenue for the Memes builders ecosystem, because we have to support the future of 6529. I can't confirm the number yet, but it is set in my mind.
If the full collection mints, I get around 8 ETH. At about $2,500 per ETH, that is roughly $20,000. Here is where it goes:
An example of an emergency: Apple pays out about three months after a payment. So if we scale fast, or get a ton of users in a short time, we would need to keep the backend running and cover the billing before that money arrives.
I am a geologist, with a master's in Geology. Today I work as a social media manager and a graphic designer. I also used to work at a product company where I managed 60 developers, and that is where I got involved in tech.
I have been involved in 6529 for more than three years, from building a 6529 game released on Steam to driving the Meme's Ambassador car and taking Naka to the highest motorable road in the world. Here is the timeline.
Once we go full on with marketing and ship the few small developments the app needs, it should take anywhere from 6 to 8 months to pay back the first phase. If everything goes well, we might complete both phases in the same period.
Either way, the monthly revenue goes to the Safe multisig, so everyone will know how fast we are going.
